North Shore Community School excels in connecting our students’ academics and learning with their natural
and social environments in a nurturing community setting.
Committee Purpose: To provide direction and oversight of the building and grounds and
make recommendations to the Board.
Due to the declared health pandemic and the declared state of emergency and pursuant to Minnesota Statute
13D.021, until further notice, all NSCS Facilities Committee meetings will be held by teleconference or other
electronic means. In accordance with Minnesota Statutes 13D.021, members of the public are not permitted
to attend this meeting due to the current health pandemic. The public is encouraged to watch this meeting

III.New Business-
a. COVID-19 Building walk-through and possible precautions (School reached
out to the insurance company (EMC) for a safety walk through before it
begins the reopening process)
b. Automatic paper towels and automatic soap dispensers for public bathrooms
such as the K-3 and 4-6 areas (Chad is looking into this for quotes for the
decision of what option is best)
c. New Exterior door quote (Discussed door quote and what was needed. This
is to be discussed in the ABC meeting agenda.)
IV. Old Business-

a. Roof Maintenance (Insurance company mandate) (Kettle & Sons inspected
roof. They did not feel like there are any big issues to as of now. Do feel like
the library roof will need attention in 2 to 5 years. Chad will respond to
insurance with Kettle & Sons findings.)
b. Broken Window (The window was replaced. The parents of the child paid for
half of the replacement costs and also brought the child to the school for an
apology.)
